Gardner-Webb Men's Tennis Set to Host 2014 GWU Fall Classic

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - Coming off its second fall tournament of the season last weekend, the Gardner-Webb men's tennis team will return to action on the court this weekend as they host the 2014 GWU Fall Classic at the Webb Tennis Complex in Boiling Springs, N.C. September 26-27th.
Gardner-Webb will welcome in three other schools this weekend as fellow Big South members Longwood and Presbyterian, with Wofford rounding out the scheduled line-up of matches.
The two-day event will be a round-robin flighted tournament with each team facing off against each other in singles and doubles.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will look to continue to build on their fall season after taking part in the Charlotte 49ers Invitational last weekend in which strong results were turned in by freshman and returning players from the GWU squad. Most notably was the play of freshman Yaroslav Prostakov (Moscow, Russia / Moscow No: 1445) who finished the Invitational with the No. 5 Singles Flight Title, along with freshman Adam Schmidt (Lund, Sweden / Malmö Stad) and junior Ernest Alberch (Torello, Spain) each winning two of their three singles matches.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will kick things off at the Fall Classic by playing a doubles match against Wofford at 1:00 P.M. tomorrow, followed by singles matches against the Terriers and another round of doubles matches versus Longwood.
