Swan Listed Among National Leaders In NCAA DI Statistical Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS --- Gardner-Webb's Matthew Swan (Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom) is ranked among the national leaders in several NCAA Division I men's soccer statistical categories, which were released on Monday, September 8.
Swan and the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs (1-2) notched their first win of the season at the weekend, edging USC Upstate by a score line of 1-0 on a 103rd-minute strike by freshman Filipe Conceicao (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
A native of Newport, South Wales, United Kingdom, Swan stopped a trio of shots in the contest, keeping his first clean sheet of the campaign and fifth of his career to enter the week ranked 23rd nationally in saves per match (5.67) and 26th in total saves (17).
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday, September 12 when the Runnin' Bulldogs take the pitch against Lipscomb in the opening match of the Belmont Invitational, hosted by Belmont University, in Nashville, Tenn. at 4:30 p.m.
