Deuel took a 10-5 decision to seal the win, improving to 12-3 individually in the process.

The first two bouts of the evening were grueling battles, with each going into overtime. The Runnin' Bulldogs bounced back on the shoulders of Tyler Ziegler at 133, as his takedown in overtime resulted in a 3-1 win over Joe Nelson.

An 11-3 major decision by Nick Tighe over Ryan Hull at 141 pounds shifted momentum, but Gardner-Webb's Ryan Mosley pulled the 'Dogs back within one team point in the 149-pound bout, capturing a 6-1 decision over Dylan Caruana with a late flurry.
