Due to the announcement that Coastal Carolina will be joining the Sun Belt Confernce as of July 1, 2016, the 2016 Big South Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will now be split into two separate events. The women's basketball championship will be played, Thursday-Sunday, March 10-13.

 
Gardner-Webb will play two conference games in early December, hosting Liberty (Dec. 2) followed by a trip to Winthrop (Dec. 5), before finishing out its non-conference schedule to close out the 2015 calendar year. 

 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will ring in the new year by hosting Coastal Carolina (Jan. 2) and two days later, travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to face Campbell (Jan 4.).

 
Gardner-Webb will then play four of its next five games in Paul Porter Arena, hosting High Point (Jan. 9), Charleston Southern (Jan. 12), Longwood (Jan. 19) and Radford (Jan. 23) with the lone road game in the five game stretch, at UNC Asheville (Jan. 16).

 
The Dogs close out the month of January with trips to Liberty (Jan. 26) and Presbyterian (Jan. 30) before returning home to host Campbell (Feb. 1) and Winthrop (Feb. 6).

 
To close out the regular-season, GWU will play five of its final seven games on the road against Radford (Feb. 9), High Point (Feb. 13), Charleston Southern (Feb. 20), Coastal Carolina (Feb. 27) and Longwood (Mar. 5). The two home matchups in the final seven game to end the season, will see the Runnin' Bulldogs face Presbyterian (Feb. 16) and UNC Asheville (Feb. 23).
