ROCK HILL, S.C.- Gardner-Webb junior Taylor Dodson for the first time in her collegiate career took home Co-Medalist honors, while the Runnin' Bulldogs as a team finished in second out of nine participants at the 2015 Winthrop Intercollegiate hosted by Winthrop University at the Rock Hill Country Club in Rock Hill, S.C.

Dodson shot an opening rounded 77, +5, followed by an Intercollegiate best round of 71 1-under par, to finish tied for first place at a score of 148, +4, with Co-Medalists Savanna Wood of Appalachian State University (73, 75) and Chelsea Dantonio (76, 72) of Winthrop. 

As a team Gardner-Webb carded rounds of 315 and 303 to finish with a combined score of 618, +42, just nine shots off the pace tournament host and winners Winthrop University. It was the second-consecutive top-5 finish for the Runnin' Bulldogs after finishing tied for third-place at last weeks Terrier Intercollegiate.

Fellow Runnin' Bulldogs Julia Henderson and Mary Katherine Donovan posted top-10 finishes at this weekend's tournament as Henderson shot rounds of 80 and 74 to finish in sixth-place with a 36-hole score of 154, +10, while Donovan shot 80 and 76 giving her a score 156, +12, tying for seventh-place on the leaderboard.

Junior Sarah Bertram and freshman Morgan Laird each tabbed top-25 finishes with Bertram tying for 22nd-place via rounds of 78 and 83 totaling up to 161, +17, for the event and Laird carding rounds of 80 and 82 giving her the best collegiate finish of her young career at 24th on the leaderboard from a total score of 162, +18.

Gardner-Webb also had junior Courtney Yanch and senior Tessy Tuschen in the Intercollegiate field playing as individuals. Yanch finished in 28th-place with rounds of 79 and 85 finishing with a total of 166, +20, and Tuschen placed in a tie for 34th behind a total of 172, +28, from rounds of 95 and 77.

The 2015 Winthrop Intercollegiate concludes the Gardner-Webb women's golf fall schedule of events.
