BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.-Tara Woelfel's goal in the 69th minute lifted the Gardner-Webb women's soccer team to a 3-2 victory in the regular-season finale on Tuesday evening at Greene-Harbison Stadium.

"This was definitely a bitter sweet night. The team was very disappointed by the earlier result and knowing that we didn't have a chance to make the tournament, but they played hard and decided that we were going to send our seniors out on a positive note," commented Varga. "It was a sloppy game from start to finish with the conditions the way they were, but we created a lot of opportunities and scored enough to get the result."
