DeLoach, Hooe, Nagle Garner Women's Soccer All-Conference Honors

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- Gardner-Webb women's soccer players Shelby Hooe, Bri Nagle, and Brittany DeLoach each earned All-Conference honors, announced the Big South office Friday morning.
A native of Mechanicsville, Va., Hooe started all 19 games during her senior season and scored the game-winning strike against Chattanooga and at Campbell. The three-time All-Conference selection finishes her career in Boiling Springs ranked seventh in GWU history with 28 goals and 66 points. Hooe also becomes the first Gardner-Webb women's soccer play to be named a two-time Scholar Athlete of the Year.
This marks the first career all-conference selection for Nagle, who has blossomed into one of the team's top defenders. Starting all 19 games during her junior season as a center back, Nagle chipped in offensively with eight shots, four of which she put on goal. In her two seasons as a Runnin' Bulldog, Nagle has started 38 games and anchored a defensive unit that has posted eight shutouts, including five this season. A transfer from the University of South Alabama, Nagle has been a fixture on the defensive line and was second on the team in minutes played as both a sophomore and junior.
DeLoach is the first Runnin' Bulldog to earn a selection on the All-Freshman team since Megan Curan was selected in 2011. DeLoach started every game during the 2015 season and also has assisted on the offensive side of the field, totaling nine shots and seven shots on goal. The freshman centerback had three multi-shot performances, including totaling a career-high three shots against Longwood (Oct. 10). DeLoach emerged as one of the team's top defenders and bolstered a defensive unit that recorded four shutouts and posted a 0.91 goals against average at Greene-Harbison Stadium during the 2015 season.
Gardner-Webb finished the 2015 campaign posting a 6-9-4 overall record and was 3-5-2 in conference play. The Runnin' Bulldogs along with Presbyterian, were the only Big South opponents to defeat regular-season champion Liberty, while Gardner-Webb was the lone squad to give the Flames a loss on its home field.
