Women's Basketball Kicks Off 2015-16 Season With First Official Practice

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb University women's basketball team rolled out the basketballs for its first official practice of the 2015-16 season at Paul Porter Arena Monday evening.

In his 12th season at the helm, head coach Rick Reeves, his assistants and the 2015-16 squad took the court at 5:45 p.m. for its first official practice of the season.

Joining Coach Reeves on the sidelines this year will be new two new assistants Cetera DeGraffenreid, Cierra Harris, as well as the new Director of Basketball Operations Letoya Twitty. 
 
The Runnin' Bulldogs will hold roughly 30 practices over the next 45 days prior to the team's season opener Nov. 15, against the North Carolina Tar Heels in famed Carmichael Arena.
 
Coach Reeves returns his top scorer and rebounder in Olivia Parker, as well as Candace Brown, who was the only player to start all 32 games last season.
Accompanying Parker and Brown, are two upper classman in Alicia Quinn and Kiera Currie, who both enter their third season for the Dogs.
 
Sophomores Tierra Huntsman, Aunesha Williams, Gerda Paulauskaite, Celia Tibbs, and Alexus Hill all return for their second season and look to build on the the experience they gained last season.
 
Alongside of the nine letterwinners, Reeves and his staff brought in five new freshman; Charlisa Jenkins, Evelyn Adebayo, Lovely Locklear, Ky'Asia Stanford, Morgan Ackermann, and Mariah Reid, that took part in their first collegiate practice in 
 
After taking on UNC in the season-opener, Gardner-Webb returns to Paul Porter to host Montreat for the first of four straight home games, Nov. 17 at 11:00 a.m.
