
Four Runnin' Bulldogs Named NFCA All-American Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, K.Y.- Four Gardner-Webb softball players – Jill Blank, Savannah Burns, Sam Harrell, and Ashley Wark – have been named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar-Athletes for the 2014-15 academic year.
The All-America Scholar-Athlete award was given to any player submitted by a member coach who achieved a 3.50 grade-point average or higher during the 2014-15 academic year.
This year, a total of 5,493 softball players from seven different divisions, NAIA, junior college, and high schools received NFCA All-American honors. NCAA Division I led all divisions with 1,554 honorees.
Gardner-Webb was one of four Big South members to have student athletes recognized for their academic achievements.
The Runnin' Bulldogs return 11 letterwinners for this upcoming season and will play their games in the newly constructed Brinkley Softball Stadium.
