Hooe, Hierholzer Named 2015 NCCSIA NCCSIA University Division All-State Team

HIGH POINT, N.C.- Gardner-Webb University women's soccer players Shelby Hooe and Bailey Hierholzer have named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) University Division All-State team, announced the NCCSIA.
A native of Mechanicsville, Va.,Hooe started all 19 games for the Runnin' Bulldogs and had arguably the best season of her career scoring nine goals and recording 31 shots on goal. A three-time All-Big South selection, garnering an All-Second Team selection in 2015, tied her single-season high in points (20) and also in game-winning goals (2).
Hooe finishes her playing career for the Runnin' Bulldogs sixth in program history with 66 career points and seventh with 28 career goals. Following her junior season, Hooe became the first women's soccer student-athlete from Gardner-Webb to be named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a feat in which she repeated in 2015.
Hierholzer started all 19 games for Gardner-Webb in her freshman season and was second on the team in minutes played (1,752), trailing only goalkeeper Keely Brown, who played every minute of all 19 games this season. In just her first season for the Runnin' Bulldogs, Hierholzer was a consistent presence in the lineup at the holding midfield/defensive positions and filled a hole that was left due to the graduation of Addison Abee, who was a four-year defensive starter that played in 66 of 68 career games.
The freshman midfielder from Heath, Texas also assisted on the offensive end totaling 11 shots for the season, including totaling three attempts in the 1-0 victory over USC Upstate.
Gardner-Webb compiled a 6-9-4 overall record in 2015 and recorded five shutouts on the season, the most in a single-year since 2010 when it recorded six.
