Big South Women's Basketball Championship Location Announced

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Big South Conference announced Wednesday afternoon that the 2016 Women's Basketball Championship Tournament will be held at Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville.
This is the first time that Kimmell Arena will be the site of the Big South Women's Basketball Tournament, and will be the fifth time (1990, 1999, 2000,2007, 2008) the annual tournament will be held in Asheville, N.C. UNC Asheville will host all rounds of the Women's Championship which will be played Thursday-Sunday, March 3-6, 2016.
Completed on Nov. 7, 2011, Kimmell Arena is the second newest basketball facility among Big South members (The HTC Center- Coastal Carolina-2012) and has a seating capacity of 3,200.
