BUFFALO, N.Y. – Gardner-Webb begins a busy weekend of action on the mats at 7:00 pm when it takes on Buffalo in Alumni Arena. The match will air live on ESPN3 (WatchESPN.com).

The Runnin' Bulldogs (2-2 dual record, 1-0 SoCon) knocked off the Bulls for the first time in four meetings last November in Boone, N.C., getting off to a strong start to the season with a 32-7 victory. GWU is coming off a comfortable win in its league opener at VMI and will travel to the 2015 Cleveland State Open on Saturday to continue its busy pre-Christmas slate.

A strong core of starting experience returned in 2015-2016 for Coach Daniel Elliott, with talent distributed evenly throughout weight classes. Cortez Starkes (6-3) and Tyler Ziegler (6-2) have gotten off to strong starts at 125 and 133 pounds, respectively and 2015 NCAA Qualifier Ryan Mosley (7-3) has been solid at 149 pounds.

2014 NCAA Qualifier Austin Trott (5-1 unattached) is expected back at full speed this weekend at 165 pounds as well. GWU has also gotten solid starts to the season from Brett Stein (5-4) at 174 pounds, #27 Hunter Gamble (6-2) has continued a fine transition up to 184 pounds and Boyce Cornwell (7-2) has settled in nicely to his new home in the 285 pound weight class.

After the Buffalo-Cleveland swing, Gardner-Webb will break briefly before heading to Lewisburg, Pa., to battle Bucknell on Saturday, December 19. After the annual trip to the 2016 Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2) in Chattanooga, Tenn., Gardner-Webb will host its first home match of the season on January 8 vs. SIU Edwardsville (7:00 pm) in Paul Porter Arena.

Seven of the team's final 10 dual matches will be wrestled in Boiling Springs, N.C.
