LELAND, N.C. – Gardner-Webb trimmed five strokes off its team score in Monday's final round, finishing fourth at the 2015 Cape Fear National Women's Intercollegiate Tournament.
The Runnin' Bulldogs (319-314-633) finished seven shots back of tournament champion and host Appalachian State (316-310-626) and just off the pace of High Point (319-311-630) and IUPIU (322-310-632).
Gardner-Webb stalwart Taylor Dodson notched another top-5 finish, firing a 76 on Monday to finish at 156 for the tournament – and tied for fifth individually. Courtney Yanch also posted a top-10 finish, with her first-round score of 73 the best of any GWU golfer in the tournament. Yanch fired a 158 over two days, finishing in a tie for eighth position.
Sarah Bartram (81-79-160) and Mary Katherine Donovan (85-75-160) tied for 12th individually and Tessy Tuschen (86-84-170) took 23rd.
The Citadel (667) and Mercyhurst (733) rounded out the field, which was played on the 5,940-yard Cape Fear National Course (Par 72).
Gardner-Webb will hit the links next weekend in Hilton Head, S.C., participating in the 2015 Low Country Intercollegiate at Moss Creek Country Club (March 21-22).
