Gardner-Webb's Mosley Set To Begin NCAA Quest Thursday Morning In St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Gardner-Webb standout Ryan Mosley will begin his quest for a national title Thursday at the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships at The Scottrade Center.
Mosley (Stone Mountain, Ga. / Shiloh HS) earned one of the Southern Conference's two berths at 149 pounds and will battle Rider's Bryant Clagon – the 15th seed – during the morning session Thursday.

Mosley stormed to his best season as a redshirt sophomore, forging a 26-9 overall mark and a 7-0 record in Southern Conference competition. He won 13 consecutive duel matches at 149 pounds, with his last loss coming in November vs. North Dakota State.
Mosley recorded six wins via major decision, one fall and two tech falls in 2014-2015. His 26 wins paced Gardner-Webb, as did his stellar 15-3 mark in dual match competition. He also paced the Runnin' Bulldogs in major decisions.
Mosley earned All-SoCon honors following the regular season and took second at the 2015 Arby's Southern Conference Championships on March 7 in Asheville, N.C.
Gardner-Webb has placed at least one wrestler at the NCAA Championships in each of the past three season, with Hunter Gamble (2013) and Austin Trott (2014) competing for the Runnin' Bulldogs previously.
Under head coach Daniel Elliott, an NCAA qualifier himself as a student-athlete for Gardner-Webb, the program is trending upward. GWU is projected to return its entire starting lineup for the 2015-2016 season, which includes Gamble, Mosley and Trott.
The doors at Scottrade Center open on Thursday morning at 10:00 am Central Time, with the first session set to begin at 11:00 am Central Time (Noon Eastern). Thursdays second session will begin at 6:00 pm.
Mosley is one of 330 wrestlers who will compete for a national championship this week in St. Louis.
