Dodson Finishes Fifth as Gardner-Webb Women's Golf Places in a Tie for Eighth

HILTON HEAD, S.C.- Sophomore Taylor Dodson finished in fifth-place individually while the Gardner-Webb team compiled an eighth-place finish tying with one other school at the 2015 Low Country Intercollegiate hosted by Wofford College at the 5992 yard, par 72 Moss Greek Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
Gardner-Webb as a team shot rounds of 323 and 315 at the Low Country Intercollegiate, which gave them a combined two-day score of 638, +62, tying them with Indiana State for eighth-place overall just two shots behind seventh-place finisher Appalachian State.
Dodson coming off of a tie for fifth-place last week at the 2015 Cape Fear National Women's Intercollegiate topped that this week by finishing in solo fifth place at the Low Country Intercollegiate. Her 36-hole combined score at the Intercollegiate was 152, +8, as she fired two rounds of 76, +4, over the weekend finishing six shots of the pace of the winner. Dodson's finish at the Intercollegiate was the third top-10 finish in a row for her this spring.
Finishing a few strokes behind Dodson was fellow sophomore Sarah Bertram who took home a tie for 18th-place individually. Bertram shot rounds of 78 and 80 to finish the Low Country tournament with a score of 158, +14. Bertram has now claimed a top-25 finish in all three of GWU's spring tournaments.
Also, garnering a top-25 finish for the Runnin' Bulldogs was junior Mary Katherine Donovan. Donovan finished in a tie for 25th-place overall carding rounds of 87 and 79 to finish the Intercollegiate with a 36-hole combined score of 166, +22.
Junior Tessy Tuschen and sophomore Courtney Yanch rounded out the line-up for Gardner-Webb this afternoon as they finished in 57th and 58th-place respectively. Tuschen shot a combined score of 169, +25, while Yanch recorded a total score of 170, +26.
Jordan Lippetz of Prineton University and Sofia Molinaro of Savannah College of Art and Design shared top individual honors at the Intercollegiate as both ladies fired rounds of 146, +2, to co-medal.
Host school Wofford College also shared the top team honors with Princeton University after both teams garnered team total scores of 618, +42.
The Gardner-Webb women's golf team will take some time off before returning to tournament play at the 2015 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C. April 5-6.
