Dates Announced For 2015 Gardner-Webb Volleyball Summer Camps

BOILING SPRINGS --- Gardner-Webb head volleyball coach Leo Sayles, along with his coaching staff and student-athletes, will host both a team and individual skills camp on the Gardner-Webb University campus this summer. The Runnin' Bulldogs will also hold three satellite team camps in Spartanburg, S.C, Locust Grove, Ga., and Fayetteville, N.C., as well as a satellite skills camp in Locust Grove, Ga.

Gardner-Webb will kick off the summer with the four-day Fayetteville Satellite Team Camp from June 8-11 in Fayetteville, N.C. The camp is open to all teams with players entering grades five through 12.

The camp will be split into a morning session for beginning and intermediate players, and an afternoon session for intermediate and advanced players. Two sessions are available: the morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday through Wednesday, and the afternoon session from 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Monday through Wednesday. An additional session on Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm is available for intermediate and advanced players.

Teams are encouraged to register prior to the April 27th team deposit deadline, when a non-refundable deposit of $20 per player is due.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will also sponsor both an individual skills camp and a team camp at Locust Grove High School in Locust Grove, Ga. The individual skills camp will run from June 12-13.

Players are encouraged to register prior to the May 15th deposit deadline, when a $25 deposit per player is due. The camp will run from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday.

The team camp at Locust Grove will run from June 15 to 18, and is open to all varsity and junior varsity high school teams. Teams are encouraged to register prior to the April 27th team deposit deadline, when a non-refundable deposit of $250 per team is due.

Gardner-Webb will sponsor an additional team camp, the Spartanburg Area Satellite Team Camp, from July 6-9 at Spartanburg Christian Academy in Spartanburg, S.C. The camp is open to all high school varsity and junior varsity teams.

A morning session from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm is available, as well as an afternoon session from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Teams are encouraged to register prior to the May 15th deposit deadline, when a $25 deposit per player is due.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will host their annual Elite Skills camp from July 10-12 in Paul Porter Arena. The camp is designed for players entering grades nine through 12, and offers instruction and training in skills and techniques of passing, setting, serving, attacking, blocking and floor defense. Emphasis is placed on developing court movement, ball control, as well as game competition. A variety of drills, games, and competition will be used to put these techniques into practice. Check-in will take place on Friday, July 10 at 1:00 pm for residents and 1:30 pm for commuters.

Gardner-Webb will host its final camp of the summer, the GWU Team Camp, from July 13-16. The camp will feature six training sessions with full GWU Camp clinicials and staff, one individual skills session, one individual practice with camp staff, daily practice sessions, round table sessions for athletes, round table sessions for coaches, as well as group building activities plus a final camp tournament.

The camp is open to all high school teams with a minimum of eight players; teams with more than 16 players will be asked to split their squad into two teams. Check-in will take place on Monday, July 13 at 8:00 am.
