Dempsey Named Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Gardner-Webb's Brendan Dempsey was named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Tennis Player of The Week, as selected by the Conference office earlier today.
Dempsey earned the Conference honors this week for his strong play this past week including his big singles come from behind win at the No.3 position over the previously nationally ranked Elon University.
Dempsey's win on Sunday March 1 clinched the match for the Runnin' Bulldogs helping them garner their first win over Elon in program history. He also collected a doubles win in GWU's match against UNC Greensboro on Saturday February 28.
The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team will open Big South Conference play tommorrow, March 5 hosting the UNC Asheville Bulldogs. The match is set to commence at 2:30 p.m. at the Webb Tennis Complex in Boiling Springs, N.C.
