Gardner-Webb Receives No. 7 Seed In 2015 Big South Men's Golf Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb men's golf team earned the No. 8 seed for the 2015 Big South Men's Golf Championship hosted by Presbyterian College at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C.
Gardner-Webb garnered the No. 7 seed based on its current GolfStat national ranking of 161, finishing ahead of host Presbyterian College who are the No. 8 seed based on its ranking of 178.
Winthrop University has earned the No. 1 seed in next week's Championship currently ranking 69 in the nation by GolfStat ahead of No. 2 seed and defending champion Liberty with their ranking of No. 81.
Radford earned the No. 3 seed with the rank of 96 in the country just ahead of No. 4 seed Coastal Carolina with its ranking of 103. Campbell earned the No. 5 seed with the ranking of 121, while last year's Runner-Up Charleston Southern with its national ranking of 143 took the No. 6 seed. High Point (226) and Longwood (253) rounded out the Championship as they placed at the No. 9 and No. 10 seeds respectively.
The Patriot Club is hosting the Big South Men's Golf Championship for the 10th time in 11 years, as the course has hosted the event every year since 2008 in addition to 2005 and 2006.
The 2015 Big South Men's Golf Championship begins this weekend with a practice round on Saturday, April 18.
The three-day, 54-hole event will be played April 19-21 and is free and open to the public. In addition, fans can follow the action online via GolfStat's "Live Scoring" feature.
The 2015 champion will receive the Big South's automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

Meanwhile, the Big South Conference will announce its 2015 All-Conference Team, All-Freshman Team, All-Academic Team, All-Championship Team and the annual award winners on Tuesday, April 21 following the event at the post-Championship awards ceremony.
