GWU's Chris Jones Named Big South Co-Men's Golfer Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Gardner-Webb redshirt sophomore Chris Jones and Liberty University Senior Mathieu Fanasse were selected as the Choice Hotels Big South Co-Men's Golfer of the Week for the final week of regular-season by the League office this afternoon.
Jones earned the weekly honor from his performance this past week at the Wofford/Coca-Cola Invitational (par 72, 6,648 yards) where he led Gardner-Webb with a 6-under 210 (68-72-70) to tie for seventh-place overall. He tied for second in birdies made, as he rolled in 16 over his 54-holes of play. Jones was also in the top-5 for Par 4 (3.97, -1) and Par 5 (4.42, -7) scoring averages over the two-day Invitational.
Jones and the rest of the Gardner-Webb men's golf team will turn their focus now to the 2015 Big South Men's Golf Championship this coming week. The Championship will be hosted by Presbyterian College this coming Sunday, April 19 through Tuesday April, 21 at The Patriot Golf Club at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C. featuring Gardner-Webb as the No. 7 seed.
The three-day, 54-hole event is free and open to the public. In addition, fans can follow the action online via GolfStat's "Live Scoring" feature.
