MORGANTON, S.C.- Gardner-Webb women's golf finished in sixth-place overall in a 12 team field at the 2015 Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate Hosted by Appalachian State University at the 6,010 yard, par 72, Mimosa Hills Country Club in Morganton, N.C.
Gardner-Webb as a team shot combined team scores of 306 and 313 to give them a total score of 619, +43 helping them to finish in the sixth-place spot 10 strokes ahead of seventh-place Winthrop University.
The top individual finisher for the Runnin' Bulldogs at the Intercollegiate was Taylor Dodson. The sophomore Dodson finished in a tie for 10th-place overall by carding rounds of 76 and 74 to finish with a 36-hole total score of 150, +6. The finish was Dodson's fourth consecutive top-10 finish in GWU's 2015 spring season.
Next to place for Gardner-Webb was sophomore Courtney Yanch who tied for 22nd-place individually. Yanch finished the Intercollegiate with a combined two-day score of 155, +11, shooting and opening round of 75 followed up with a final round of 80. Upperclassmen Mary Katherine Donovan finished close behind Yanch firing rounds of 77 and 80 to place 29th overall with the score of 157, +13.
Rounding out the lineup for GWU was sophomore Sarah Bertram who finished in a tie for 41st-place with a 36-hole score of 162, +18, and junior Tessy Tuschen whose two-day total score of 167, +23 found her in 55th-place overall.
Jennifer Dilger of Wintrhop University took home top individual honors at the Intercollegiate as she carded rounds of 73 and 71 to medal at the event and finish with the final two day score of 144, even-par.
Host University Appalachian State took home top team honors as the Mountaineers as a team shot rounds of 303 and 297 to finish with a total score of 600, +24.
The Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate was the last event for Tee Burton's squad before they compete next week at The 2015 Big South Women's Golf Championships April 12-14 at the Golf Club at Debordieu in Georgetown, S.C.
