Women's Soccer Announces 2015 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- Gardner-Webb is pleased to announce its 2015 women's soccer schedule, with the season-opener set for Aug. 21.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will play a total of nine non-conference matches, six of which will be contested at Greene-Harbison Stadium.
The non-conference slate is highlighted by games against Mercer and Troy, both of which advanced to their respective conference tournament championship game. Mercer captured the Southern Conference championship this past year, and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Three of the five games for the Runnin' Bulldogs will be played on the road, before GWU returns to Boiling Springs to play its final four non-conference games.
Gardner-Webb will open conference play on Saturday evening Sept. 26, when it hosts the Winthrop Eagles. After facing the Eagles in the conference opener, Gardner-Webb will take on reigning Big South Tournament champion High Point, Sept. 30.
Gardner-Webb's final regular-season road match will be contested at Charleston Southern Sept. 24, before it faces UNC Asheville three days later in the regular-season finale.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will look to build on a strong 2014 season, in which they qualified for the Big South Tournament for the first time since 2011. GWU returns its top five scorers, including First-Team All-Big South selection and Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Shelby Hooe.
