Former Gardner-Webb Men's Assistant Coach Earns First Professional Coaching Win

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- Former Gardner-Webb volunteer assistant coach and current Brevard College assistant Richie Wall, earned his first professional coaching victory this past week with the West Virginia Chaos.

Wall, a 2012 graduate of Gardner-Webb, led the Chaos to a 2-0 victory over the Cincinnati Dutch Lions on Saturday evening. Current Runnin' Bulldog goalkeeper, Matt Swan, started in net for the Chaos, making seven saves en route to the shutout. Nathan Rose and Clay Edwards featured in the contest as well.

Wall stepped in to lead the team during Saturday's match, as current head coach Scott Phipps missed the contest to help care for his wife and the birth of their newborn child.

A native of Charlotte, Wall started his collegiate career at Wingate University, before transferring to Gardner-Webb, where he played his final three collegiate seasons from 2009-11.

During his time with the Runnin' Bulldogs, Wall helped guide GWU advance to the conference championship in 2008.
