
Bri Nagle Named Big South Women's Soccer Defensive Player Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Gardner-Webb junior Bri Nagle has been selected the Big South women's soccer defensive player of the week, announced the conference office on Monday afternoon
Starting both games this past week, Nagle propelled the Runnin' Bulldogs to victories over Chattanooga on Friday and VMI on Sunday.
A transfer from the University of South Alabama, Nagle has solided a defensive core that boasts a perfect 3-0-2 record at Greene-Harbison stadium so far this season.
Having to replace a four-year letterwinner on defense in Addison Abee, who graduated this past May, Nagle has stepped up to anchor a defensive unit that has posted four shutouts and allowed just one goal in five home matches.
The Runnin' Bulldogs got off to a slow start to the 2015 campaign dropping two of its first three matches, but have turned their season around, picking up victories in three of their last five matches, including scoring a season-high four goals in its last game against VMI.
Gardner-Webb plays its last non-conference match Friday when it hosts Elon at 7:00 p.m., beforet taking a well-deserved eight-day break, then opening up conference action Sept. 26 against Winthrop.
