Women's Tennis Selected Eighth In Big South Preseason Poll

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team was selected eighth in the Big South Conference preseason poll, announced the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The Runnin' Bulldogs graduated just one senior this past season and will head into the 2016 season led by senior Rokia Sacko and juniors Mary Walker Mixon and Catherine White.
Winthrop was picked as the preseason receiving five of the possible 10 first-place votes and were followed by Liberty, Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, and Campbell, who round out the top five preseason teams.
Radford was selected just ahead of Gardner-Webb with 37 points, while Presbyterian and Longwood were picked behind the Runnin' Bulldogs with 25 and 12 points respectively.
Gardner-Webb kicks off the 2016 season Feb. 2 against nearby Limestone College and travel to Presbyterian Feb. 17 to open up conference play.
