DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb Men's Tennis (1-2) team rode strong play from several players to a 6-1 victory over Davidson on Sunday afternoon.
Maximillian Scholl outdueled Shamael Chaudhry (6-4, 6-4) in the No. 1 singles slot, while Yaroslav Prostakov made quick work of Jordan Hart (6-0, 6-3) in the No. 3 position.
Nikita Zverkov and Benjamin Kaszas were both forced to three sets by their Wildcat counterparts but eventually claimed victories at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Jonathan Walker also picked up a win with a (6-2, 6-4) score over Evan Watkins at No. 6 singles.
The Runnin' Bulldogs took the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to claim the point for the match. Zverkov and Prostakov won their No. 1 match 7-5, while Kaszas and Scholl downed their opponent 6-1.
Gardner-Webb Men's Tennis will be back in action next Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at UNC Wilmington.
