Men's Tennis Blanked by NC State

RALEIGH, N.C. – Gardner-Webb's men's tennis team fell to in-state opponent North Carolina State by a score of 4-0.

All three Wolfpack double's teams won in convincing fashion, while the top three singles players made quick work of their Runnin' Bulldog counterparts to seal the match.

Yaroslav Prostakov and Nikita Zverkov were handed a 6-1 loss at No. 1 doubles by Igor Saveljic. Jonathan Walker and Paul Hogan put up a fight at No. 3 doubles before falling 5-4 to Thomas Weigel and Shotl Meparidze.

Maximillian Scholl was setback by Weigel at No. 1 singles (6-2, 6-3). Zverkov and Prostakov both fell in straight sets at No. 2 and No. 3 singles respectively.

Gardner-Webb will be back on the courts tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Clemson for a 5:00 p.m. start.
