CLINTON – S.C – The Gardner-Webb women's tennis team notched a Big South Conference win over Presbyterian Wednesday afternoon 4-3.

Rokia Sacko put her opponent away in convincing fashion with a (6-1, 6-4) victory at No. 1 singles.

Also winning their single's matches were Catherine White and Mary Walker Mixon. White lost her first set at the No. 5 position before battling back to take the match in three sets (4-6, 6-0, 6-2). Mixon defeated Nicole Croxton in straight sets (6-4, 6-4) at the No. 6 spot.

The Runnin' Bulldogs were victorious in two of the double's matches to take the point for the match. White and Sarah Rieckmann defeated Brittany Nuttall and Croxton 6-3 at No. 3 doubles, while Sacko and Mixon handed a 6-4 loss to Claire Andrews and Tracy Johnson at No. 2.

Gardner-Webb will hit the nets again Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. at home against Limestone College.
