BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's tennis (2-7, 0-2) team dropped a Big South Conference match to Campbell (2-5, 1-0) 6-1 Saturday afternoon.
Campbell took two of the three double's matches to secure the point for the match. Jonathan Walker and Paul Hogan teamed up for the Runnin' Bulldogs at No. 2 doubles defeating Dustin Werner and Gerard Sola 7-6 (7-5).
Maximilian Scholl fell to his No. 1 singles opponent Lukas Schaefer (7-5, 6-3).
The lone singles winner for Gardner-Webb was Yaroslav Prostakov in the No. 5 slot. Prostakov defeated Jonathan O'Neal in straight sets (6-2, 6-3).
Benjamin Kaszas took the first set in his No. 3 singles match before falling to Sola in three sets (7-6, 5-7, 6-7).
The Runnin' Bulldogs will be back in action Thursday when they host Appalachian State at 2:30 p.m.
