BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb head wrestling coach Daniel Elliott sat down for an interview Monday morning with Mat Talk Online, discussing his team's recent success and the program with host Jason Bryant.
The entire podcast can be accessed via this link (mattalkonline.com). Gardner-Webb (7-5, 5-1 SoCon) is in the midst of its best dual season in history, currently tied for first in the Southern Conference standings with one match remaining.
Gardner-Webb has already established several new program milestones, including its first win over a ranked Division I opponent (#25 Appalachian State, #24 Duke), most Southern Conference wins in a season (5) and most dual wins in a season (7).
The Runnin' Bulldogs will attempt to wrap up a share of the Southern Conference crown on Wednesday, hosting Davidson at 7:00 pm in Paul Porter Arena. The match is part of a busy week, as GWU will also host Ohio and Cleveland State in Boiling Springs on Saturday, February 13 (Noon / 2:00 pm).
