Mujahid, White Pace Runnin' Bulldogs At Charlotte 49er Classic Saturday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- Kayin Mujahid (Philadelphia, Pa.) placed second in the high jump and A.J. White (Hurricane, W.Va.) posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the shot put and discus to lead the way for Gardner-Webb on the final day of the Charlotte 49er Classic on Saturday.

White kicked off the day for the Runnin' Bulldogs in the shot put, placing seventh with a mark of 15.29 meters – seven centimeters short of his personal record. The senior thrower followed with a fifth-place showing in the discus, coming up 13 centimeters shy of his PR with a mark of 47.20 meters.

Marcus Abraham (Charlotte, N.C.) finished third in the shot put in his collegiate outdoor debut, posting a mark of 16.19 meters in his hometown – a toss that ranks less than a meter short of Gardner-Webb's school record. Abraham recorded a mark of 39.55 meters in the discus to round out his impressive collegiate outdoor debut.

Diamond Reese (Atlanta, Ga.) placed 12th in the shot put with a mark of 11.56 meters, as Moriah Mason (Decatur, Ga.) posted a personal record of 11.03 meters to finish 18th. Mujahid earned the Runnin' Bulldogs' top finish of the weekend in the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters.

Gardner-Webb is back in action on Thursday, March 24 at the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
