
Gardner-Webb's Aaron Thomas Named Big South Men's Golfer of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Sophomore Aaron Thomas was named the Big South Conference's men's Co-Golfer of The Week for his performance this past Easter weekend at the Furman Intercollegiate.
Thomas' performance was highlighted by his second-round play on Saturday when he shot his collegiate best round of 66, -6 under-par. The round was the lowest by a GWU golfer this season and the third lowest 18-hole score in the Big South in the 2015-16 season.
In just his second year of collegiate competition the Mount Holly, N.C. native shot an opening round 71, -1 under-par and a final round of 75, +3, to finish the event with a 54-hole score of 221, -4 under-par, earning a tie for 12th-place overall on the individual leaderboard.
Thomas led the Runnin' Bulldogs in birdies made at the Intercollegiate as he holed twelve en route to his highest collegiate finish of his short career.
Thomas and the rest of the Gardner-Webb men's golf team will be back in action next at the ECU Intercollegiate hosted by Eastern Carolina University at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C. April 4-5.
