
Women's Basketball Faces Longwood In Regular Season Finale Saturday

The Game
Gardner-Webb takes to the road for its final regular-season game Saturday, when it travels to Farmville, Va. to take on the Longwood Lancers. Saturday's game is slated for a 2:00 p.m. tip and will be streamed live on the Big South Network.
Last Time Out
The Runnin' Bulldogs avenged an early season loss to Coastal Carolina this past Saturdaywith a 61-51 victory inside of the HTC Center. Candace Brown led the way with a game-high21 points and Olivia Parker recorded her fifth straight double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. The Runnin' Bulldogs shot 40.4% (21-of-52) for the game but really did agreat job of crashing the boards, as they held a 47-40 advantage including hauling down 15 offensive rebounds. Gardner-Webb struggled shooting the ball in the first half connecting on just 8-of-26 from the field, but did a great job of getting into the paint and drawing fouls,as it hit 11-of-19 from the free-throw line, compared to Coastal, who attempted just fivefree-throws in the first 20 minutes. The Runnin' Bulldogs played great defense on CCU's leading scorer, Ced Gibson, limiting her to just 12 points on 4-of-18 from the field, and as a team Coastal shot just 27.5%, hitting 19-of-69 field goal attempts.
Series Notes
This will be the 15th meeting between Gardner-Webb and Longwood, since GWU joined the Division I ranks in the 2000-01 season. The Runnin' Bulldogs defeated the Lancers in the matchup earlier this season 67-42. The two team split the regular-season meetings in 2014-15, with each side defending its home court. Gardner-Webb however defeated the Lancers 63-55 in the first round of the Big South Tournament.

The Runnin' Bulldogs own an 14-2 record inside of Paul Porter Arena this season. In his 11 seasons at GWU, Reeves' teams have posted a .500 mark or better inside of Paul Porter Arena in 10 of the 11 seasons, compared to just two above .500 seasons outside of Boing Springs. Reeves has posted a 114-55 mark in PPA as head coach of Gardner-Webb.
