Women's Tennis Drops Close Match At Campbell

BUISE CREEK, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb Women's tennis team (3-6, 1-2) dropped a close Big South contest 4-3 to Campbell (6-3, 1-1) on Saturday afternoon.

The Runnin' Bulldogs took two of the three double's matches to gain the match point, but was unable to capitalize in the singles portion.

Stina Magnusson and Sandra Bolstad paired up to defeat Iri Karangozishvii and Nina Asanin 6-4 at No. 1 doubles, while the duo of Catherine White and Sarah Rieckmann defeated Isabel Boada and Claire Bedi 6-3 in the No. 3 slot.

Bolstad and White also won their respective singles matches. Bolstad took down her opponent in three sets at No. 3 singles (6-4, 6-7, 7-5). White made quick work of Boada at No. 5 singles (6-1, 6-2).

Gardner-Webb will hit the courts again Monday afternoon when they host Fairfield at 3 p.m.
