BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team (3-7) handed Fairfield (1-7) a 6-1 loss on Wednesday afternoon.
No. 1 singles player Maximilian Scholl got past Brad Orban (6-4, 6-0), while Yaroslav Prostakov was victorious over Jeffrey Rodgers (6-4, 6-4) in the No. 3 position.
Also winning in the singles portion of the match were Paul Hogan, Jonathan Walker and Adam Schmidt in the No. 5 slot.
The Runnin' Bulldogs took the first and third double's matches to secure the match point.
Gardner-Webb will hit the courts again Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they travel to South Carolina State.
