
Women's Golf Set To Commence 2016 Big South Championship Presented by Musco Sports Lighting

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.- Tomorrow morning at 9:20 the Gardner-Webb women's golf team will tee off the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championships hosted by High Point University at the par-72, 6,082 yard, DeBordieu Golf Club in Georgetown, S.C.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will enter the tournament as the third seeded team sitting at No. 121 on the current GolfStat national rankings, the seeding is the GWU program's highest at the Championship since 2011.
Campbell University was awarded the No. 1 seed as they topped the Big South in rankings at 51 in the nation, while defending champions Coastal Carolina earned the No. 2 seed with the GolfStat ranking of 59.
Gardner-Webb's lineup at the Championship will consist of seniors Mary Katherine Donovan and Julia Henderson, juniors Taylor Dodson and Sarah Bertram, and playing in her first Championship freshman Morgan Laird.
At the No. 4 seed and national ranking of 132 is Charleston Southern, with Winthrop University ranked at No. 162 and the fifth seed at the Championship, while Longwood received the No. 6 seed ranking 196 in the country.
Rounding out the seeding's for the Championship were High Point (No. 199), Radford University (No. 226), and Presbyterian College (No. 238).
Laird will be the first member of the team to tee off the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championship presented by Musco Sports Lighting at 9:20, follwed by Donovan (9:30), Henderson (9:40), Bertram (9:50), and Dodson (10:00).
The three-day, 54-hole event will be free and open to the public. In addition, Runnin' Bulldog fans can follow the action online via GolfStat's "Live Scoring" feature. The 2016 Big South champion will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals played at various locations across the United States.
