GEORGETOWN, S.C.- Junior Taylor Dodson shot a Gardner-Webb low round of 73 this morning as the Runnin' Bulldogs remained in fifth-place overall at the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championship hosted by High Point University at the DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, S.C.
Gardner-Webb improved three shots from their first round this afternoon carding a score of 310, +22, in their second round of play. GWU currently holds the 36-hole score of 623, +47, heading into their final round at the Championship tomorrow morning.
Dodson's 73, +1, for the day coupled with her first round of 78 has her currently in a tie for ninth on the individual leaderboard at 151, +7, just eight shots behind Campbell University's Nadine White who currently sits in first at -1 under-par.
Bouncing back from a first round score of 80 Julia Henderson shot the next best round of the day for Gardner-Webb firing a 74, +2, making her move up the leaderboard to 17th overall with a two-round score of 154, +10.
Senior Mary Katherine Donovan fell eight positions on the leaderboard this afternoon as the Hampstead, N.C. native fired a 79, +7, in today's second round now sitting in a tie for 22nd with a combined two-day score of 156, +12.
Freshman Morgan Laird and junior Sarah Bertram both shot 84's over their 18-holes of play today as Laird now sits 34th overall with a score of 162, +18, while Bertram is currently in 37th with a 36-hole score of 168, +24.
The Runnin' Bulldogs women's golf team will tee-off their final round of play at the 2016 Big South Women's Championship tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock.
