GEORGETOWN, S.C.- The Gardner-Webb women's golf team finished their season this afternoon at the 2016 Big South Women's Golf Championship, presented by Musco Sports Lighting, as the Runnin' Bulldogs finished fifth for the Championship hosted at the DeBordieu Club in Georgetown, S.C.

With conditions being tough and the winds playing a major factor throughout the day the Runnin' Bulldogs carded a final round of 337 this afternoon paired with their previous rounds of 313 and 310 to finish at the three-day score of 960, +96, to remain in the fifth-place spot for the tournament.

Campbell University took home the team honors at the Championship and will receive the automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals as the Fighting Camels shot 894, +30, over their 54-holes as a team from rounds of 296, 293, and 305.

Individually Gardner-Webb had two top-25 finishers at the Championship as junior Taylor Dodson put up a final round score of 83 finishing in a tie for 15th on leaderboard as her three rounds of 78, 73, and 83 totaled 234, +18, while senior Mary Katherine Donovan's final round 82 secured her a tie for 24th overall as her scores of 77, 79, and 82 saw her with a 54-hole score of 238, +22.

The finish outside of the top-10 for Dodson snapped a streak of 15 straight tournaments for the junior finishing in 10th-place or better. The streak dated back to November 2, 2014 when Dodson finished tied for fifth at the Fall Winthrop Intercollegiate.

Finishing just outside of the top-25 for GWU was Julia Henderson. The Nova Scotia native shot 85 in her final round of play at the Championship coupled with her first two rounds of 80 and 74 to finish in a tie for 27th at the event with a three-day score of 239, +23.

Rounding out the Gardner-Webb Championship lineup were junior Sarah Bertram and freshman Morgan Laird who shot 87 (84, 84) and 93 (78, 84) respectively in their final rounds to finish in a tie with one another for 36th-place overall.

Campbell also captured the top Individual honors as Nadine White won the Championship with rounds of 73, 70, and 76 on her scorecard to finish with the final score of 219, +3.
