Runnin' Bulldogs Wrap Weekend In Style At VertKlasse Meeting

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Jordan Davis (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ivy Harris (Bailey, N.C.) each placed second in the 400-meter dash and 400-meter hurdles, respectively, as five other Runnin' Bulldogs set new personal-records to cap a successful weekend at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting for Gardner-Webb on Saturday.

Davis opened the day with a superb performance in the 400-meter dash with a second-place finish in a time of 58.22 seconds. Amy Turlington (Hendersonville, N.C.) followed with a PR in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 2:28.53, as Ivy Harris placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a mark of 1:06.15. Anna Harris (East Bend, N.C.) set a new personal-best in the 400-meter hurdles as well, finishing the event in 20th with a time of 1:12.83.

Kayin Mujahid (Philadelphia, Pa.) paced the Runnin' Bulldogs in group A of the high jump, placing fifth with a mark of 1.60 meters, as Joseph Martin (Broadway, Va.) set a new PR in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.81 seconds. Josh Parks (Forest City, N.C.) also placed third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.61 - less than half a second behind first place.

The quartet of Martin, Parks, Caleb Silvey (Greenville, S.C.) and Quentin Jones (Moore, S.C.) turned in a impressive performance in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing fourth with a time of 3:23.50. Jalin Lawson (Fort Gaines, Ga.) set a new PR in the long jump with a mark of 6.56 meters, while Jones placed 10th at 6.69 meters. A.J. White (Hurricane, W.Va.) posted a new personal-best of 48.27 meters en route to an eighth-place finish in the discus throw.

Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday, April 15 at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic in Cullowhee, N.C. on the campus of Western Carolina.
