CONWAY, S.C.- Annie Robinson's three-run home run in the sixth inning gave Coastal Carolina the lead for good, as the Chanticleers recorded a three-game sweep of the Gardner-Webb Softball Team with a 7-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at the CCU Softball Stadium.

With the victory, Coastal Carolina improves to 32-19 overall and moves to 15-5 in conference play, while Gardner-Webb falls to 18-29 and 4-14 in the Big South.

Kelsey Dominik was dominant on the hill for the Chanticleers for a second straight day, and after limiting GWU to just one hit over four innings on Saturday, the senior right hander scattered three hits over six innings and struck out four to pick up her 18th victory of the season.

Summer Darnell threw five solid innings for the Runnin' Bulldogs, allowing six hits and struck out five, but walked six on the afternoon. Mackenzie Thompson replaced Darnell in the sixth inning and allowed four runs and walked three as the game remained scoreless.

Scarlett Harris singled to lead off the second inning for the first hit of the game for either team. Sam Harrell pinch ran for Harris and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Cumiskey, but the Runnin' Bulldogs were not able to plate the run.

Coastal Carolina took advantage in the third inning, plating three runs on three hits. Bri Chiusano singled to begin the inning and advanced into scoring position as she nabbed second with a stolen base. Morgan Noad drew a walk and Mackenzie Conrad proceeded to clear the bases with a three-run home run to give the Chanticleers the lead.

Gardner-Webb had arguably its best chance to cut into the defecit in the fifth inning as Kaylee Wacaster singled and Jill Blank put down a great sacrifice bunt to advance Wacaster into scoring position. Amanda Gomes hit a one-out single and Wacaster moved to third on the play, but Domink got Harris to line into a double play to end the inning.

The Chanticleers put the game away with a four-run sixth inning. Three of the runs came on Robinson's home run and the fourth run of the inning was the result of Taty Forbes' rbi single.

Taylor Rahach came on to pitch the seventh inning for the Chanticleers and did not allow a hit, as Coastal Carolina recorded the 7-0 victory.

Gardner-Webb returns to action this upcoming weekend, when it travels to Liberty for its final three-game series of the year. The two teams will play a doubleheader Friday evening starting at 5:00 p.m. and a single game Saturday, starting at 2:00 p.m.
