DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team competed in the eight flight Davidson Invitational over the weekend. The tournament included USC Upstate, Campbell, UNC Asheville, Queens, Davidson and Gardner-Webb. In a field of good teams and coaches, Gardner-Webb collected 14 wins over the three-day span.
Head coach
Mike Griffith stated, "we need to finish off the matches better in singles." Despite collecting multiple wins in singles vs. Queens Griffith believes, "if we would have won the breakers for the third, we would have won about seven more matches."
Gearing up for the spring,
Maximilian Scholl is set to compete next weekend in the ITA Regional Tournament in Cary, N.C..
