RADFORD, Va. – Gardner-Webb had two players post double-doubles, yet the Runnin' Bulldogs dropped a 3-1 decision at Radford in Big South Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
Gardner-Webb falls to 7-18 overall and 1-11 in Big South play, while Radford improves to 20-3 and 10-2 in league action. The Highlanders took the match by scores of 25-17, 25-16, 21-25, and 25-9.
The Runnin' Bulldogs had 35 kills on the day, attacking at a .039 percentage, while the Highlanders totaled 55 kills and had a .201 hitting percentage.
Both
Nicole Celarek and
Amanda Sahm had double-doubles for the Runnin' Bulldogs. Celarek led the team in kills, collecting 10 smashes on 41 swings and had 11 digs. She also had a pair of services aces to lead the team. Sahm had a team-high 28 assists to go along with 16 digs for the day.
Keira Moore had a solid day on the attack, totaling nine kills on 18 attempts, attacking at a .389 percentage.
Kaeyln Dyson led the team with four total blocks, while
Emma Milstead led the team with 18 digs.
Radford was led in kills by Valerie Gonzalez, who had 16 kills on 46 attempts. Kaylor Nash led the Highlanders with 28 digs and Haley Kleepsies had a match-high 41 assists. Amaya Rousseau had three total blocks to lead the team.
