@GWUWrestling Announces Challenging 2017-2018 Schedule

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb wrestling will hit the mats again in 2017-2018 with another tough slate of opponents on tap, beginning at home on November 3 vs. Eastern Michigan.
Gardner-Webb and Eastern Michigan will wrestle in the first outdoor match in GWU history on Friday, November 3, weather permitting, at 6:00 pm. The bout will take place on the infield at John Henry Moss Stadium/Bill Masters Field – home in the spring to the GWU baseball program.
The Runnin' Bulldogs will also have home dual matches against Appalachian State (Jan. 10), Campbell (Jan. 21), SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 26), The Citadel (Feb. 13) and Davidson (Feb. 16).
Gardner-Webb will battle Old Dominion and Northwestern in Norfolk, Va., on November 12, then will drive across the Commonwealth to take on Virginia in Charlottesville on November 17. The 'Dogs will be back in Virginia on December 8 to open SoCon action at VMI and will also have road dates at Duke (Feb. 1), Ohio (Feb. 4) and Chattanooga (Feb. 11).
GWU will also hit the tournament circuit hard, wrestling at the 2017 Hokie Open (Nov. 5) and Wolfpack Open (Nov. 19) – before hitting the traditional tournament swing at the Cleveland State Open (Dec. 16) and Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2).
The Arby's SoCon Championship will be held in Charleston, S.C., on March 3 – followed by the 2017 NCAA Championships in Cleveland from March 15-17.
