BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. –
Nichole Ford tallied eight kills while
Hannah Donaldson added six total blocks to propel Gardner-Webb to a straight-set sweep of South Carolina State on Tuesday evening inside Paul Porter Arena.
Gardner-Webb (6-11) won the match by scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-16 with an attacking percentage of .270, while holding South Carolina State (1-15) to a -.055 attacking rate.

Nichole Ford is starting to emerge as a go-to hitter for us, and our block forced SCSU's hitters to play a little soft on their attack. We did a good job counter-attacking as well."
Ford led all attackers with eight kills on 17 swings for a .294 attacking percentage.
Amanda Sahm dished out a match-best 26 assists.
Sahm and
Makalia Vang each had a match high three service aces.
Donaldson led the 'Dogs on the block with one solo block and five block assists, while
Charissa Coleman had a match-high nine digs.
South Carolina State was led on the attack by Alexus Holt, who collected five kills on 23 attempts. T'Meyah Burgess had a team-best 10 assists.
Kyra Marshall and Desiree Walker each had three total blocks to lead the visiting Bulldogs, while Erin Hundley led the team with five digs.
With tonight's win, the Runnin' Bulldogs snapped a five-match losing streak.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday evening, opening a two-match road swing at UNC Asheville. Action is slated to begin at 6:00 pm with live coverage on ESPN+.
