Gardner-Webb's Zack Byers Named Big South Men's Golf Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE – Gardner-Webb golfer Zack Byers was named Big South Conference Men's Golf Freshman of the Week on Friday by the league office.
Byers (Shelby, N.C. / Shelby HS) finished the 2018 Hummingbird Intercollegiate with a 1-under par score of 212 (71-70-71) earlier this week – finishing tied for 26th individually at the event.
Byers tied for third overall in par-5 scoring (-6), carded two eagles for the tournament and posted his best 18-hole round (70) in three collegiate events so far this fall.
Gardner-Webb and Byers will take a brief break before getting back on the links October 14-16 at the 2018 Elon Phoenix Invitational.
