
Cullen Fields Named CCSA Men’s Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Gardner-Webb sophomore Cullen Fields has been named the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets contested October 1-7, announced today by the CCSA.
Fields (Marietta, Ga. / Hillgrove HS) had two first-place finishes and a second-place result in three individual swims this past Friday in Gardner-Webb's win over Catawba.
In the 200-yard backstroke, Fields timed in at a season-best 1:57.33 to place first. His time currently ranks as the fifth fastest in the event this season among the CCSA.
Fields also earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.70 and had a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 53.31 seconds.
He was also part of the 200-yard medley relay team that placed second with a time of 1:35.92, completing his split at 23.03 seconds.
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Friday, October 26 in a two-day meet at Liberty University, taking on BYU, Mount St. Mary's, Old Dominion, and host Liberty.
