BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Perth, Australia's Connor Enslin will be headed to the United States following high school graduation to play college tennis for head coach
Mike Griffith and the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs.

The son of Michael and Tracy Enslin, he grew up in Perth and played prep tennis at Scotch College. Enslin plans to major in economics or business upon enrolling at Gardner-Webb.

The 17-year-old right hander has been playing tennis since age eight and is currently coached by Ash Dyer. Enslin earned a top-10 ranking in the Junior Division in Australia and is ranked in the top-160 in the men's open rankings. In 2017, he was selected to the All-Australian Pizzy Cup team for an event held at the Shepparton Tennis Club.

"I chose Gardner-Webb because of the location of the school and really liked hearing the vision that Coach Griffith had for the program. I am excited to be a Runnin' Bulldog."

Griffth was equally excited to sign Enslin. Â "There were a number of things that made Connor attractive to us," said Griffith. "He is a fighter on the court and someone who uses his consistency and mental toughness to win matches. He is tall and has a great build for tennis. He wants to take his game to the highest level and aspires to be a professional after college."

Enslin will begin classes at Gardner-Webb in the fall of 2019 and join the 'Dogs for the 2019-2020 season.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will begin the spring 2019 season on Saturday, February 1 at Coastal Carolina. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
