BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb's Anthony Perrine picked up a win at 197 pounds, but the Runnin' Bulldogs fell by a 36-9 team score to visiting Duke in non-conference wrestling action on Thursday evening inside Paul Porter Arena.
 
The Blue Devils picked up a forfeit at 125 pounds, while GWU earned a forfeit win at 133 pounds to set the team score at 6-6.
 
Duke earned a win by pin at 141 pounds by Josh Finesilver, followed a tech fall win by Mitch Finesilver at 149 pounds and an 8-3 win by Ben Anderson at 157 pounds.
 
Back-to-back major decisions and 165 and 174 pounds, followed by a tech fall win at 184 pounds for Matt Finesilver gave the Blue Devils a 33-6 edge.
 
Perrine would break the Duke win streak at 197 pounds, taking a 5-2 decision over Louis Castellano in his first dual match of the season.
 
Duke's Araad Fisher closed the match with an 8-2 decision at 285 pounds.
 
Gardner-Webb returns to action on Thursday, December 20, hosting George Mason. The bout is slated for a noon start time inside Paul Porter Arena.
