CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Gardner-Webb's Tyler Marinelli picked up a big win at 157 pounds Sunday, but the Runnin' Bulldogs fell by a 37-5 team score at Chattanooga in SoCon wrestling action.

The Mocs picked up a forfeit at 125 pounds, and rattled off a decision and two consecutive major decisions to power an early 17-0 edge on the scoreboard.

Marinelli slowed that early burst, rolling to a 16-0 tech fall win at 157 pounds, putting away Dylan Forzani in 4:37. Chattanooga responded with two consecutive decisions, before back-to-back major decisions at 184 and 197 pounds.

The Mocs' Connor Tolley closed the match with a pin at 285.

Gardner-Webb will continue a busy week, hosting The Citadel on Tuesday, February 13 (7:00 pm) and closing the regular season on Friday, February 16 – hosting Davidson at 7:00 pm for Senior Night.

The Runnin' Bulldogs will travel to Charleston, S.C., on Saturday, March 3, for the 2018 Arby's SoCon Championships.
