GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Gardner-Webb men's tennis team squad was victorious for the second time in its last three matches, defeating the Limestone College Saints, 6-1, Wednesday afternoon.

Ross Gilbert and
Breno Plentz began the match with a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles for the Runnin' Bulldogs.
Adam Schmidt and
Johan Fors clinched the doubles point for Gardner-Webb with a 6-0 win at No. 2. In the last doubles match to conclude,
Millen Hurrion and
Maximilian Scholl won, 6-3.

The Runnin' Bulldogs won five of six singles matches on their way to a convincing 6-1 victory over the Saints.

In the No. 6 position, Fors, a junior from Dalsjofors, Sweden won by a pair of 6-1 scores.
Paul Hogan's match at No. 1 singles was the second contest to conclude. He was victorious in two sets, 6-4, 6-4.

Plentz won the 'Dogs third consecutive match, earning a 6-2, 7-6 win at No. 3, before Limestone won its only singles contest in the No. 5 position.

Hurrion (No. 2 singles) and
Stefano Puga (No. 4 singles) closed out the match with victories for Gardner-Webb.

"Limestone made us work and pushed us," said head coach
Mike Griffith. "We learned a tremendous amount from this win and are looking forward to tomorrow's practice before heading into conference play."

The Runnin' Bulldogs improve to 5-6 overall and will open Big South Conference play on Saturday, February 24, when they visit the Campbell Fighting Camels. Match time is set for 11:00 a.m. in Buies Creek, North Carolina.
