BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – It was a dominant day for the Gardner-Webb women's tennis team as the Runnin' Bulldogs cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Limestone Saints.
The 'Dogs swept the doubles point, with all three doubles squads wining by a 6-0 score. Sandra Bolstand and
Miljana Ristic competed at No. 1 doubles, while
Sarah Rieckmann and
Valentine Limauge were at the No. 2 position.
Daniela Naupari and
Paula Romero were victorious at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Romero began the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory to give the Runnin' Bulldogs a 2-0 lead over the Saints. Ristic also cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3, while Naupri won at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Limauge won her match at the No. 5 position by a 6-1, 6-1 score, which gave Gardner-Webb a 5-0 lead. Limestone won its only match of the day at No. 2 doubles in three sets.
Sandra Bolstad ended the day with a victory at No. 1 singles, winning in two sets, 7-5, 7-5.
The win was the Runnin' Bulldogs first of the 2018 spring season and improves their record to 1-2 overall. The Saints fall to 0-2.
Gardner-Webb will return to action on Wednesday, February 14 at Charlotte. The match is set for 2 p.m. Â
